On the Road – Healing Walk 2014
Greetings from Alberta!
It’s been a while, but now we have some exciting news for you – Sue has just arrived in Canada to take part in this year’s tar sands healing walk. After five years, this will be the final healing walk, taking place this weekend – Friday June 27th to Sunday 29th.
Over the past five years we have been on an incredible journey to stand with First Nations communities on the front lines of the tar sands expansion and pipelines resistance. For the next few weeks Sue will be our eyes and ears in Canada as it was important for us to witness for ourselves the destruction taking place there. We wanted to be there and hear directly from communities about what the situation is like on the ground, to take stock of what has happened and also to create a vision for future work together with our brothers and sisters.
We also want to make sure that we can bring you all along with us over the next week, so we will be sharing blogs, videos and lots of images for you to share. If you are able to be social media pixies sharing links, letting people know that it’s taking place over the next week that would be a wonderful way for you to help us get the stories from the front lines out to the world.
Thank you to everyone who supported us so far to get to the healing walk and stay tuned!
Stepping in solidarity,
The team at UK Tar Sands Network
