Please join Eriel Deranger from Indigenous Climate Action and Suzanne Dhaliwal from UK Tar Sands Network for a day of talks, workshops and a chance to build our movement at such a challenging time. There will be food and space to talk together about how we will continue to grow a movement that lifts up the voices of women on the front lines of resource extraction, the impacts of climate change and climate solutions. In the UK we have a vital role in this global movement and we are at a vital juncture to continue to connect our struggles and stand side by side.

Indigenous Climate Action: Looking to Indigenous Rights as Solutions to Climate Change
Eriel will talk about the impacts of climate change and resource extraction on her community in Alberta, Canada and the global climate. She will explore the multitude of solutions that indigenous communities are working on and proposing to respond to climate change and to transition to a just society.
Eriel Tchekwie Deranger is the founder of Indigenous Climate Action and a member of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation in Canada.

Indigenous resistance to fossil fuel extraction, with Indigenous Climate Action, Seed Mob, and UK Tar Sands Network
Eriel will be joined by Nicole and Suzanne to explore global indigenous resistance to climate change and the importance of international solidarity. Indigenous people are on the frontlines of fossil fuel extraction and the impacts of climate change and are forging a path for climate justice and solutions to the climate crisis.
Nicole Hutton is a young descendent from the Garawa people and Queensland Organiser of Seed Mob, Australia’s indigenous climate justice organisation.
Suzanne Dhaliwal is the director of the UK Tar Sands Network and works as a trainer and artist to support environmental justice movements fighting for climate justice.
